Calvin Lewis -Black Mirrors

This week I have been listening to latest fine offering from Llanelli musician Calvin Lewis. Calvin is a one man guitarist and recording musician who writes and performs all his own songs. His latest album ‘was delivered via the postman landing on my doormat with a attached note with the words - ‘ I hope you’re still at this address otherwise someone else has got a new free beermat!’ After playing the tracks all week I am pretty sure this album would not be used as a beermat by anyone. Black Mirrors’ is rock/metal instrumental guitar album which displays Calvin’s fine guitar skills and musical talents to the full. There’s screaming guitars; wah wah; fast riffs; slow riffs; elements of classical influence and melodies that take you on a journey into the heart of the music with deep atmosphere. The eight track album starts with the Track ‘ Elated’ which leads you nicely into the ambience of the album which would make a great soundtrack for a film of TV show. I have already imagined myself listening to this music on a hot summers day, whilst driving with the windows down in my car. Bring on the sun! If you love recording guitarists artists such as Malmsteen or Satriani then you should listen to Calvin Lewis. Track listings inclusive of Elated are: Black Mirrors; Unanswered; Esoteric Rain; After All; Highland Thing; No Reason & Vision.
Calvin’s music is available from Spotify, Itunes, Amazon and Deezer. You can also check out Calvin on Facebook at www.facebook.com/calvinlewisgtr, there you will also find links to his You Tube Channel.
