In Which It Burns ! : Meet The Artists - P4MH Swansea Alternative Big Weekend!
This bank holiday weekend Creature Sound, Swansea, welcomes an action packed weekend of live musical talent in the P4MH event which was organised by Damian Harris drummer of World Vs World & Fat Wreck. The event in association with Death Monkey Records and Welsh Connections kicks off on a Friday 25th May at 7pm. This is a family friendly event and costs £4.50 for adults for the entire weekend and kids are free. Proceeds go to Matt’s café which is a homeless project based on Swansea High Street. Attendees are also asked to kindly bring food or practical donations to help the homeless members of the community who depend on Matt’s café. Tickets available in the day or in advance from Derricks Swansea .

Tell me about your band? Dan 'wookie' Mayhew - Drums Steve Flynn - Lead guitar Mike 'Mikey' Thomas- Bass Wayne 'Stretch' Mayhew- Guitars and Vox We are a Pembrokeshire based original thrash metal band with writing and playing on the brain How long have you been together? Since March 2016 Who are your musical influences? Steve - Lamb Of God, Pantera, Dan - Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Pantera Mike - Led Zepplin, Deep Purple, The Who Wayne - Cradle Of Filth, Skinlab, Acid Bath. How would you describe your music ? Hard heavy groove based thrash metal. Are there any of the bands who are playing Swansea’s Alternative weekend that you are looking forward to seeing? Godkilla. Played with them in Crowleys a while back but had to leave b4 their set cause of work commitments. Punks 4 Mental Health is about challenging stigma around mental ill health . What does it mean to your band to be playing this event? Steve - My daughter has autism and mental health issues so its great to help raise awareness through music. Wayne & Dan - Mental health issues in the family mean we are well aware of the challenges faced by sufferers. Mike - family members who have suffered with issues in the past used music to help them get through their tougher times and performing is a great healer and boost for ourselves. What can people expect from your band ,if they come out to see you ? Abuse from the get go, both musically and verbally. Hard thrash metal to cleanse the soul and damn you to hell for at least a few weeks!! Anything else you want to add?
