Live Music is Back in Town!!

With the easing of the Covid 19 Welsh Government restrictions live music is back in Llanelli. For those of you that thought the scene was dead, you were wrong. Local music is back and its stoking up its fires and coming for you.

Wednesday nights,’ the oldest Open Mic night in town, is back, at The Kilkenny Cat. Be sure to get down there for your fix of live music.

As if that’s not enough, on Saturday 7th August the ‘Cat’ held a tribute night to Soul, Motown and Reggae with a live set from local talent Leroy Badboy Brown.

What a scorcher of a night it was! You’ve only got to look at the Kilkenny Cat Facebook page to see what an amazing night people had.

Thursdays

If you are looking for live music on a Thursday evening, Steboneath Sports Bar is already in full swing with their Open mic Nights from 6pm. So get down there and be sure to check it out!

Sundays

if you are looking for something to do on a Sunday, pop over to the very popular Star pub for their Open Mic Nights from 7pm.

And its not just the tribute acts and open mic nights that are firing up the music scene in town. Local band and alternative punk rockers ‘Stickman’ are already booking gigs although their planned gig on Friday 13th August at Jacs in Aberdare has sadly been cancelled last minute due to illness .You can check out the band’s music and their future gig plans on Facebook.

In huge news Llanelli’s ‘Scarlet Rebel’s’ are also back on the road and travelling countrywide. In hot news, the band have secured a place on the sold out bill at Cardiff Castle supporting ‘Those Damn Crows’ live on Bank holiday Sunday 29th August. Moving forward to November Scarlet Rebels have secured another coveted place on the UK tour of top American rock band ‘Buckcherry.’

Woohoo, amazing stuff.

As if that wasn’t enough, the band have massive things ahead with the impending release of their new album ‘See Through Blue,’ coming soon. You can pre-order the album through the Earache Records webstore here. There’s a variety of different options available including red and blue album covers; signed CD’s; coloured vinyl and hand written lyric sheets by the band.

If you haven’t already done so, go check them out and support your local musicians by buying their music and supporting their live gigs.
