Looks like I missed a great gig last Saturday 20th February at the Masons Arms when Helldown and Proscenium landed at the venue. Having heard positive feedback from those who attended the gig I set to find out more about Proscenium from their Keyboard player Gareth long.

Who are Proscenium?

Proscenium are a 6 piece power metal band from Cardiff. Front man/vocals-Lee Bowen, Lead Guitar-Glyndwr Williams, Rhythm Guitar- Michael Abbott, Keyboards-Gareth Long, Bass-Chris Machin and Drums-Graham Bradley.

How long have you been together?

The band have been together for 2 years and made their debut performance at the Haunt in Brighton in November 2015.

How would you describe your music?

Our music is best described as a combination of power metal combined with operatic vocals and symphonic orchestration.

What makes you different from other bands?

I think we differ from a lot of bands due to Lee's powerful operatic style vocals and our classical and theatrical influences.

Why did you pick Llanelli to play?

Both Lee and Gareth are Swansea boys and were keen to play locally and heard a lot of great things about the Masons. We were certainly made to feel very welcome there with friendly staff and the locals were very supportive indeed.

What is the band’s favourite gig so far?

We have to say that so far the Masons has been our favourite gig and can't wait to return in the near future.

What can people expect from Proscenium in 2016 ?

2016 is turning out to be a good year for us with festivals and gigs coming in all the time. You can catch us at the Seven Sins Festival at the Nidum Arts Centre in Neath on Easter Sunday 27th of March where we will be playing along side some amazing bands.
