Who are in With The Jellyfish?
We are: Richard Martell - Vocals/Guitar Moj Taylor - Guitar Ceri Diggion - Bass/Vocals Al Murray - Drums/Vocals
What kind of music do you play? Covers or originals ?
We play original songs, the odd cover or two does get into our set though, especially if we feel a particular song will go down well. Nothing at a gig is better than the unexpected song!
What's your favourite track to play live ?
Optic Eye. We do a 'Little Red Riding Hood' intro, that know-one really knows how to take or where the song is going. Quiet verses building to powerful chorus', loads of vocal harmonies and loud guitars. It's fun to play!
Do you have any memorable gig stories? Good or bad?
Gig stories are a tricky one... Either nothing happens, your standard gig (still with plenty of partying) Or, everything happens, and we can't divulge that infromation
What's your favourite venue to play live?
The Duke Neath would be our 'home' gig, that's where it all started, but we genuinely enjoy playing anywhere... It's gratifying to see someome new to our music enjoying the show!
Where did you get the name In With The Jellyfish and who picked it?
There were many stupid names thrown around but when this one came up it seemed right! It's from the film Twin Town. During a discussion about dying at sea... "Quick prayer from the chaplain. Bit of a sing song, and you're In With The Jellyfish! Plop!...Goodnight Irene!"
Where are the band from and what's the live music scene like where you live?
Our local scene is Swansea/Neath. It seems pretty good. There's been new live music venues open recently in both, showcasing original music. Also, there's a lot of top quality original bands in South Wales at the moment, so most nights out you see something awesome!
What's your impression of Llanelli from playing a gig in the town?
We've only played in Llanelli once before. The Masons in the summer. It was a cracking venue, we can't wait to be back! There was a crowd wanting music, a great atmosphere and an awesome sounding venue!
