Who are Zed Motel?

Zed Motel are a garage rock three piece from Swansea, comprising of Chris Noir on guitar and vocals, Jonathan Williams on drums and Katie Skilton on lead vocals.

How long have you been together?

We'd been playing for approximately a year and a half as a duo, but Katie's now joined the line up in the last couple of months.

How would you describe your music?

Our music is loud and grungey (for want of a better term) with plenty of big guitar riffs and reverb to make up for the lack of bass! We've now added a lot of two part vocal harmonies in too. We're like early Black Sabbath meets Fleetwood Mac...

What is your favourite Zed Motel song and why?

'Tie Dye' is one of the most catchy songs, and was our first single. 'Black Square' has all the key elements of Zed Motel in one 4 minute burst; fuzz guitar riffs, big drums fills, false endings and two part vocal harmonies. It's all going on there.

What is the best and worst thing about being in a band?

The best part is gigging new places and making music with your best friends. The worst part is definitely carrying all the gear round.

What plans do you have for the future of the band?
