Windshake & Fallen Temples live 31/03/17
When I first saw the band Wind Shake playing in Llanelli a couple of months back, I thought that they were a good young band with a lot of potential. After last Friday’s gig, I think they are living up to that potential. Their set was more upbeat and bouncy than the last gig. In my previous review I compared them to the indie shoe-gazer band, Ride, this time I thought they were more like indie pop pioneers, Cud. The odd thing about this is that the boys are too young to remember either Ride or Cud but have managed to arrive at this sound on their own, by listening to The Velvet Underground and The Beatles and putting their own slant on it, just as the indie bands on the late 80s did.

Playing with Wind Shake were Fallen Temples, Swansea boys now living in Cardiff. This three piece band played a groove-based hard rock set and it was no surprise to hear that they are influenced by bands like Led Zepplin and Black Sabbath. The band had great energy on stage that enthused the appreciative crowd and probably lead to some sore necks in the morning. The set consisted of everything from the memorable chorus of Enter the Void to the epic Eternal Drift and I’m really looking forward to listening to their EP, The Future We Left Behind, which I managed to pick up on the night.
