Stand Up & Shout Move On With The Good Life!

I caught up with Aidan from SUAS ahead of their final ever gig at The Masons Arms Llanelli on Friday 21st April.

How long have Stand Up And Shout been together?

We made it to the final of Llanelli's Battle of the Bands the year that Beautiful Strangers won. We've also had chances to play in some great festivals and across the bridge which we're pretty proud about. Why did you pick the Masons to play your final gig?

We used to come to the Masons back when we were all 18 to watch our friends band. We played one gig there as support for them and ever since we've always considered the Masons the place where we were given a chance to share our music for the first time - so we kept coming back. Seems pretty fitting to finish up where we got our first real gig. Why are the band parting ways after all this time?

Do any of the band members have any future music plans?

Laurence has started booking solo gigs with his acoustic performances and will always be around in the music scene. Meanwhile myself and Matthew are playing and recording with another band.

What is your favourite Stand Up and Shout song?

I think I speak for all of us when I say it was our EP Launch at the Masons a few years ago. The place was pretty packed and the crowd were fantastic. We sold a lot of copies and it was overall an awesome night and great success. Do you have any funny gig stories?

We once played with Alien Stash Tin and The Bambi Killers in Bristol. After we played our set one of the other bands started throwing toilet paper around and got us to dance around while they did. Was a pretty weird gig - but we had a great time. You have JayCee on the bill can you tell me a bit about JayCee ?

JayCee are a great bunch of guys we met in the Swansea Scene. We supported them on their EP1 launch and have kept in contact since - sharing a few gigs around Swansea. Have you heard anything about ‘A Night Like This’? We haven't had a chance to share a stage with them previously - but we've heard only good things. We know that one of the guys is a Masons regular so we know they have good taste at the least! Anything else you want to add ?

Good luck to all the members of Stand Up and Shout for the future.
