Revival Coming At You!!!

The Punks 4 Mental Health Mini Fest is fast approaching us . With just under a week to go, it's time to introduce the headliners of day 2, hotly tipped, up and coming ‘Valleys’ band ‘ Revival.’ Find out more about the ‘Madness’ below:

Your band seems to have exploded over the past year, can you tell me a bit about Revival? ( band members and how long you've been together etc)

Yes we've really made progress and very quickly too, although there's so much more work to be done and we're aiming very high. Revival started in the valleys of Oakdale South Wales, the local music scene seemed dead and the stuff we were hearing on the radio really didn't appeal to us, we wanted to bring back the beauty of old school metal but adapt it in our own way to create our own style. We've been together since 2014 all though our bass player has only been with us for a year. Listening to your tracks, your sound reminds me of classic early metal bands, how would you describe your music ?

I agree, we really worked hard analysing legendary bands, taking all these styles in and making our own. Our style truly is endless, the flexibility in this band's talent is unbelievable, we can try anything. It's hard for me to describe our music because we don't settle in to one genre. What I will say is we are original. You've recently been in the studio with legendary producer Chris Tsangarides who has in the past worked with Judas Priest, Gary Moore, Black Sabbath & Thin Lizzy among others. How did Revival come to work with him? To be honest, I still cannot believe we even got to meet such a legend, never mind work with him. We've always been huge fans of his work but it was only after I had seen the Anvil documentary that I realised he was living in the UK and could possibly be approachable. I don't think we'd ever been so nervous in our lives leading up to the first moment we met him. Seriously the man is so down to earth and genuine, it was almost as if we had known each other for a long time.

You recently won a battle of the bands competition in Newport and have even got to the last 50 bands for the iconic Camden Rocks festival, can you tell me a bit more about these events?

Yes, we gave 100% every round to winning that competition. Playing alongside our good friends Hang11 in the last round really made us step up our game, their performance was phenomenal. Being in the top 50 for Camden Rocks is an achievement because of our fans that clearly wanted us to be there, but we haven't been confirmed playing there just yet.... so fingers crossed we get to play at such an amazing festival

What's next in the horizon for Revival ?

A record deal. We are eager to release our first real album, we have some seriously exciting new songs that the world needs to hear on record. We try and see this business as a ladder and set goals one step at a time, taking every opportunity we get and giving 100% at all times! We aim for the highest possible success and I believe anything is possible.

You are playing Punks 4 Mental Health in
