State Of Decay : Meet The Bands Playing This Weeks Punks 4 Mental Health Minifest .
Supporting Mental Health Awareness Week!
Playing night 2 of the Punks 4 Mental Health Minifest at The Masons Arms Llanelli on Saturday 13th May are the excellent hardcore punk band State Of Decay. Here I find out a bit about the band and what Mental Health stigma means to them.
Can you tell me a bit about your band ? We play hardcore punk. We've all been doing it for years in various other bands, so when we got together it just came naturally; nothing was forced and the chemistry was there from day one. We're in our 3rd year and we're on our 3rd EP.
You are playing at the Punks 4 Mental Health Mini Fest this weekend, what can people expect from the band on the night? Fast, loud, and high energy. If you've ever thought about what Motörhead would sound like if they were a punk band, you'll find out on the night. We once were referred to as "heavier than an aircraft carrier filled with ball bearings" What does it mean to the band to be playing an event aimed at challenging stigma around mental health ?
Whether you're aware of it or not; we all have a friend suffering with something. It doesn't change who they are and it doesn't stop them from being your friend, partner, or family. Putting a stigma around it all just makes no sense to us.
Come and see State Of Decay play the Punks 4 Mental Health Minifest this Saturday 13th May at The Masons Arms, Llanelli . Doors open 7pm. Entry is free. Buckets will be doing the rounds on the night so please dig deep for a contribution to our chosen mental health charity Links .
