Trackstar/Pornstar: Introducing The Bands Playing This weekends Punks 4 Mental Health Minifest.

Supporting Mental Health Awareness Week playing day 1 of the Punks 4 Mental HealthMinifest at Crowleys Rock Bar on Friday 12th May are valley punkers

'Trackstar/Pornstar'. Find out more about the band and what Mental Health means to them below:

Can you tell me about Trackstar/Pornstar?

Well the band are called Trackstar/Pornstar, we are a four piece who formed from two other bands called 100,000 Bodybags and Dead Radio, those two bands toured and gigged a lot together, but unfortunately Dead Radio sort of imploded, so we got together as a four piece with the idea of doing some heavy riff lading punk music. We all love and grew up with punk and metal, and wanted to do a band with the heavy riffs of rock/metal and the social conscience of punk. You are playing at the Punks 4 Mental Health Mini Fest this weekend, what can people expect from the band on the night? You can expect a set of short, punchy punk tunes with catchy, singalong choruses. There will probably be a couple of quirky covers thrown in as well just for the hell of it and to make sure people know that we're not taking ourselves too seriously.

What does it mean to the band to be playing an event aimed at challenging stigma around mental health?

It's a brilliant cause that we support wholeheartedly. Mental health is an invisible killer with a huge social stigma attached, so anything that shines a spotlight on that is the worthiest of causes. People need to understand that millions of people suffer with mental health conditions, and simply reaching out and lending a sympathetic ear could literally be the thing that saves someone's life. Whatever and whenever we can support a cause like this, we'll be at the front of the queue.

See Trackstar/Pornstar live on Friday 12th May at the Punks 4 Mental Health Minifest day 1 at Crowleys Rock Bar Swansea. Doors 730pm, free entry. Buckets will be doing the rounds so please dig deep for a contribution to our chosen mental health charity Links !
